We are called
to serve the marginalized and disadvantaged;
to see those who are left behind.
To teach where resources are scarce and facilitate meaningful learning
To nudge the world in a better direction

But when Black boys are killed,
when students are shot,
when the world’s on fire,
what do we do?

We don’t nudge.
We march, we push, we shove.

We engage in conversation and demand answers
We listen and we shout
We work together since we all have a place
as agents of change
