When you stepped off that airplane,
Barcelona might as well have been a different planet
“Pare”
“No hay paso”
“No entre”
You tried desperately to understand
On your own against a dark sky.
The unknown continues to bewilder you,
Leaving you stranded.
Knowledge is the rock on which you stand,
Saving you from a tumultuous sea.
But you have found no safety from spontaneity,
Though you try you know there are no right answers.
So you find yourself lost
In the celestial chaos of nature
Wandering in the pine green palace of your mind,
You remember:
You come from a lineage of sunshine,
A nurturing embrace.
That renewable sunshine energy
Will carry you through the dark.
