Ode to BJK

In the middle, invisible, and suppressed,
Launched from careworn ways and stress
Seeking peace, joy, light,
To balance the weight of her past, her plight.

Her loved ones: searching, grieving, gone,
The weight of words cause her to mourn
What can be done to offer light –
Illumine the way to make things right?

Her light shines up from deep inside
Where it continues to abide,
Creating the joy and peace she needs
Through simple giving, kindly deeds.

Setting her own bar high and then
Reaching, achieving, again, again,
Brings joy, warmth, a sense of worth,
Seen by all, a sign of growth.

Her joys and sorrows intertwine,
In general, she would say she’s F.I.N.e.
Life proves arduous, and yet
She wants as much as she can get.
