Within the Leaves

She yearns to discover herself
To unearth herself from the expectations 
and fear of disappointment

With a curious heart, she searches 
to find herself 
within the leaves

She walks through the warm, summer nights 
to release the tension from her body

She begins to unravel the preconceived notions of who she’s 
supposed 
to be

To make room for who she 
is

She must leave the trees she has always known 
to discover 
the new forest that awaits her
