Standing strong upon a rainbow road
A multitude of greens bathe her face in love
Hidden in the shadows, a mother’s love trembles
Not yet fulfilled.

Desire screams, swamping her fragile soul
Hot tears of fear, sear her cheeks
And ravage her bruised heart.

Yet
In the stillness
Wisdom soothes the storm within
Melodies of hope, a journey unfinished
A future yet to come.

Upon her lips, a smile plays
As she gets into her car
And drives onward
Along the rainbow road.
